    A bad thing:

Twenty-nine NGOs providing services ranging from alleviating food insecurity to assisting the disabled in Zimbabwe’s Masvingo Province have been banned, sparking fears that this could be the start of a new wave of restrictions like the blanket ban placed on the activities of civil society organizations during the violent and disputed parliamentary and presidential elections in 2008.

    A thing to change:

On Wednesday, Apple shareholders will meet in California to celebrate their most profitable year in history. Apple is now the richest company in the world. Sign this petition to them asking them to make the iPhone 5 ethically. The petition is at 81,000 + signature. Let’s help get it to 90,000.

Reporters have documented cases of deadly explosions at iPad factories, and repeated instances of employees dying of exhaustion after working thirty to sixty hour shifts. In some of the factories Apple contracts with, so many employees have attempted suicide that management installed nets to prevent employees from dying while jumping off building ledges.

About

Every day so many bad things happen in this world: people die of poverty, starvation, politics fails us and corruption damages.

But every day so many good things happen as well: breakthroughs in health, science and technology, governments committing to change and people having fabulous new ideas on how to see good occur.

What if we could take just one action a day, to fight the bad and/or help the good?

This blog aims to make us aware of a bad thing and a good thing that happens everyday. And, in addition, provide an avenue to do something in response. Every day a small action, to change things, to react and make a difference.

I'm traveling back to Australia for a few weeks and won't be able to post normally, I've queued somethings though and hope to be writing again soon.
